Parts Counterperson

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for assisting all mechanics and customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies. The Parts Counterperson is also responsible for achieving monthly sales and gross forecasts and for seeking out and soliciting parts business. The Parts Counterperson reports directly to the Parts Manager.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish


• Tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for a dealership


• Handling parts payment collections and making sure all parts are billed correctly


• Packing and shipping parts to the manufacturer and completing the appropriate record keeping


• Ship and receive parts as needed


• Referring to parts manuals to identify the right part(s) for the make, model and year of vehicle


• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock


• Complete special order part request for the customer


• Communicate with customer on parts status


• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner


• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures


• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry


• Pick up and/or deliver parts as needed

Requirements:

• Adhere to the company’s dress code policy


• minimum 2 Years Experience with auto parts 


• Excellent communication and organizational skills


• Ability to work well in a team environment


• Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality


• Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety


• Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload on daily, weekly and monthly basis


• Must be flexible with schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays


• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to navigate through the Parts warehouse and access storage areas and shelving thorugh activities such as stretching, squatting, and reaching


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time


• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock
