Parts Manager

The largest parts department by sales volume in the DC Metro is looking for its next leader — combining a strong service business from market-leading repair order counts with one of the largest Mazda wholesale businesses in the DC district. Safford Mazda Fairfax operates out of a Mazda Retail Evolution facility and holds back-to-back Mazda Gold Cup Awards (2024, 2025) — the only dealer in the Washington area with that distinction. Our retiring Parts Manager built a strong department; we're hiring their successor.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory levels, ordering, and turn — right-size stock, minimize obsolescence and aging parts


• Coordinate daily with Service to ensure parts availability matches technician workflow and customer promise times


• Manage wholesale account relationships and pricing


• Hire, train, schedule, and monitor performance of parts department staff


• Set competitive retail and wholesale pricing while protecting department margin


• Ensure parts are properly coded for full manufacturer refund credit on unused factory stock


• Maintain accuracy and organization across the parts storage operation


• Represent the department in daily manager meetings with clear, direct reporting

Requirements

• Proven Parts Manager leadership experience at a franchised dealership (Mazda experience a plus, not required)


• Strong factory and vendor relationship


• Inventory management background


• Comfort with DMS systems (we run Reynolds & Reynolds Ignite)


• Direct, accountable leadership style — builds a team people want to work for

Role reports directly to General Manager.
