Parts Technician

SMS Equipment is looking for a Parts Technician to join our highly skilled Anchorage, AK team. 

Base Wage: $27.39 – $34.01 per hour, depending on experience. Additional premiums may apply.
Location: Anchorage, AK.
Schedule: 5x2 (Monday to Friday)

 What You’ll Do

• Provide accurate parts, pricing, and availability information to internal and external customers.


• Source alternative parts when OEM parts are unavailable and follow up on back orders.


• Manage parts inventory, including dispensing, receiving, inspecting, sorting, cataloguing, and handling stock.


• Handle invoicing, work orders, shipping/receiving, and documentation.


• Coordinate shipping instructions and support warehouse activities.


• Process CORE returns and assist with inventory counts.


• Support other day-to-day parts operations as needed.

What You Bring

You are a detail-oriented Parts Technician with sound judgement and a commitment to responsive customer service. You take initiative, collaborate effectively, and stay organized while balancing multiple orders and inventory priorities.

Additional qualifications include:

• Previous parts experience, preferably with heavy equipment or automotive parts.


• A safety-first mindset, with excellent attention to detail and strong time-management skills.


• A customer-focused approach and effective communication skills.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized inventory systems.


• Self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position is classified as an Individual Contributor role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
