Mechanical Engineering Patent Agent Opportunity – Seattle/Major Locations

A prestigious law firm is seeking a talented Patent Agent to join its Mechanical Engineering Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong engineering background to work on complex patent matters with globally recognized clients. Strong background in field of lithium-ion battery technologies.

Collaborate with top practitioners and technical specialists. Work on diverse patent matters, including prosecution, litigation support, and client counseling. Receive robust mentorship and training in a collegial and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to mechanical and engineering inventions. Conduct interviews with inventors to understand and protect new ideas. Advocate for clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Draft and amend patent claims and analyze prior art for key concepts. Participate in patent litigation by providing technical support and related client counseling.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Strong academic credentials (minimum 3.0 GPA); advanced degrees are a significant plus. 1-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience. Admission to practice before the USPTO. Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
