The Academy's first school opened in Delano in 2009, serving students from across the Central Valley in grades 6-12. In 2016, we moved to our new, state-of-the-art college prep campus in Delano, and in the Fall of 2017, added an elementary school in Delano and opened a second charter school in Lost Hills. In Delano, we serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12, while in Lost Hills, we serve over 400 students in grades TK-12.

The Pathway Academic Support Lead (PASL) will work in partnership with the pathway team and classroom teachers to help facilitate learning. The PASL works collaboratively with peers, teachers, and students with a deep commitment to our college-going mission. The PASL holds students, team members, and self to high expectations and upholds the Academy’s culture of excellence. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shared Vision: Supports a vision of excellence for all students, with an urgency to maximize every opportunity necessary to achieve ambitious student outcomes
• Teaching and Learning: With guidance from and in collaboration with the pathway manager and school leadership, develop learning and intervention plans for pathway students in high school and college courses. Work closely with support teachers and professors to ensure student academic action plans are aligned with course learning outcomes. Guide and support Academic Support Tutors in executing learning and intervention plans.
• Data-Informed Decision Making: Supports tracking student progress by leading efforts to collect and input data into database systems on a weekly basis. Communicates trends, points of concern, as well as points of achievement, with key stakeholders.
• Coverage Support: Leads or facilitates the classroom in the absence of the lead teacher and/or professor.
• Community Outreach: Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events
• Professional Expectations: Participate fully in all assigned staff meetings, professional developments, and planning sessions. Prepare lessons and student exemplars as assigned. Participate fully in the coaching cycle (being observed, receiving real-time and post-lesson feedback, collaborating with coaches on action steps, implementing action steps, etc.) Support the general day-to-day activities of the school site
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Experience working with school aged children- preferred
• Desire to pursue a teaching credential, preferred
• Bilingual Spanish speaker, preferred

Pay: $25.00/hour.

• Wonderful College Prep Academy offers highly competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. 
• Full-time staff benefits include medical coverage, dental, vision, and life insurance at no cost to the employee. We also offer an optional 403b, with company match, as a supplement to STRS retirement pension. In addition, employees have free access to the Wonderful Wellness Center and gym.
