Key Responsibilities:

• Billing Accuracy: Produce and manage precise patient invoices in compliance with billing guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Payment Management: Handle patient payments meticulously, confirming accuracy and completeness while accurately recording transactions.
• Insurance Coordination: Collaborate closely with insurance providers to submit and monitor claims, ensuring timely reimbursements and resolving any claim discrepancies.
• Patient Support: Address patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment arrangements, providing clear and concise explanations to facilitate dispute resolution.
• Financial Guidance: Engage with patients to discuss financial obligations, establish manageable payment plans, and explore available assistance programs.
• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and organized records of patient accounts, billing transactions, and communications, ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations.
• Account Reconciliation: Identify and rectify discrepancies in patient accounts through regular reconciliation and audits to uphold data accuracy.
• Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with healthcare professionals, including billing specialists, clinicians, and administrative staff, to optimize financial processes and enhance patient satisfaction.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other relevant standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in patient account management through process enhancements.

Requirements:

At least 1 year recent, related experience with accounts receivable and/or customer service in a healthcare facility – Required

At least 1 year of experience working with the following:

• Medical claims billing
• Denials and appeals
• Customer service

OR

Completion of a 2-year degree, plus 1 year recent, related experience

Ability to operate general office equipment – Required
