What will you be doing:
The Patient Accounts Manager oversees the financial aspects of patient accounts in a healthcare setting, including billing, collections, and resolving related issues. They are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, payment processing, and minimizing bad debt. Their role involves managing patient accounts receivable and implementing strategies to improve cash flow.
Manage billing, payments, outstanding accounts, and implement strategies to improve cash flow and reduce bad debt.
Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid regulations; resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
Supervise and support patient account representatives; lead departmental activities and maintain confidentiality.
Liaise with patients, insurers, and stakeholders regarding account status and billing inquiries.
Analyze patient account data, assist in financial planning, and contribute to achieving company goals.
Monitor payer contracts and databases, update EMR system rules, and address technical issues.
What we’re looking for in you:
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities with a professional and tactful demeanor.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, healthcare billing software, and data analysis tools.
In-depth understanding of medical coding, billing practices, healthcare laws, and revenue cycle management.
Proven ability to lead teams with strong supervisory skills and prior managerial experience.
Capable of maintaining detailed records, generating reports, and analyzing financial data.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field preferred, with several years of healthcare billing experience.
