Job Description - Patient Accounts Manger

Citizens Health is looking for a Patient Accounts Manager to manage patient billing and self-pay liability accounts for Citizens Health, including hospital and clinic accounts.

About Us: Citizens Health is a community based, private, not-for-profit organization. It is comprised of:


Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital,


Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic,


Prairie Senior - a skilled nursing facility,


Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce,


Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business,


Palace Drug Store - our outpatient pharmacy.

Days/Hours: Typically Monday-Friday  8AM to 5PM.



Pay Range: Dependent upon experience.



The Patient Accounts Manager will report to the Revenue Cycle Manager



What you’ll do:



  • Patient financial counseling.

  • Establish payment arrangements

  • Oversee the statement process.

  • Mange the pre-collection process through letter and phone calls.

  • Manage processes with 3rd party collections companies.

  • Will assist with insurance follow-ups, claim denial, credit balances, etc. 


  • Complete other duties as assigned.







      What you bring to the table:




      • Five years of experience in healthcare preferred, including experience in revenue cycle and standards related to medical billing, coding, insurance, collections, and general hospital operations.


      • Experience in insurance negotiations beneficial.


      • Above-average experience in office productivity software (email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.).
