Patient Care Attendant

VCA Kingwood Animal Hospital seeking a Patient Care Attendant to join our 3 doctor practice.

The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clientele and the highest quality care to the hospitalized patients.

In this position, you will support and assist Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants daily in the treatment room area.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting doctors and technicians.
• Monitoring and care for pets in the treatment area.  Demonstrate knowledge an effective execution of compassionate patient care, handling and medical responsibilities as appropriate for maintaining health and comfort of our hospitalized, sick and well patients.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prepare surgical packs.
• Assist with technician appointments.
• Communicate effectively with clients and other associates.
• Cleaning cages.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for staff and clients.
• Assist with inventory and stocking.
• Follow standard hospital procedures including the ability to read, understand and follow proper healthcare documentation guidelines for basic medical records.

Experience in the animal healthcare industry preferred.

Ability to sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb as well as manipulate up to 40 pounds.
