Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining patient safety by providing continuous observation of assigned patients. Assists healthcare professionals by performing care activities and related nonclinical services to support patient comfort and well-being. Ensures a safe environment for patients and staff through vigilant monitoring and timely intervention. Collaborates with nursing staff to address patient needs and promptly communicates any safety concerns. Delivers professional, courteous, and supportive care in alignment with organizational standards.
• Observes patients continuously for behaviors indicating potential problems and alerts nursing staff immediately.
• Remains alert and present with patients at all times, providing 1:1 supervision when required for safety.
• Uses nurse notification systems and communicates pertinent patient information during hand-offs and shift reports.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Notifies nursing personnel of exceptions from the patient’s established plan of care.
• Redirects patient and family concerns to appropriate staff and provides interactive activities to support patient engagement.
• Demonstrates proper use of personal protective equipment and follows infection control and isolation guidelines.
• Uses equipment safely, reports accidents and incidents, and assists with non-nursing tasks as delegated by nursing staff.
• Maintains required competencies, completes annual training, and meets employee health requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent experience
0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), KY SRNA within 90 days of hire
