Job Description - Patient Coordinator Float


Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Provides an efficient and successful new patient visit that would benefit the providers and the patients.
  2. Retrieves incoming fax referrals from other offices.
  3. Registers new patients.
  4. Retrieves any records necessary by going through the new patient charts to see what needs to be sent to TCFR prior to the patient’s visit (lab results, imaging records, biopsy reports, etc.).
  5. Faxes  office notes to the patient’s PCP/referring and any MD’s cc’d on the office notes.
  6. Assists medical records with their desktop.
  7. Floats for receptionists when needed.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Medical Practice Software, Windows, and Microsoft Office.

Required Education and Experience

HS diploma/GED and one year related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, certificate program and one year related experience. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

None required for this position.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.
