Patient Cost Specialist (FT) | Business Services | Ames | 2026-035

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a Patient Cost Specialist for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: Consults with personnel in other departments and other healthcare organizations to discuss and formulate patient cost estimates. Collaborates with Financial Services to assist patients with required pre-payments, payment plan options, financial aid applications, or health plan restriction requirements. Works to improve patient experience by providing price transparency in accordance with McFarland Clinic's Core Values and Promise.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET


• Associate degree in business or related field preferred.

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Experience

• Two years of medical office experience.


• One year knowledge working with CPT procedures codes and ICD-10 diagnosis codes preferred. 


• Medical terminology preferred. 

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
