We are seeking a friendly and organized Patient Registration Specialist to join our Neuro-Ophthalmology team. As the first point of contact for our clinic, the Patient Registration Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience. You will be required to greet customers, register patients, and collect payments. In addition, the Patient Registration Specialist will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and answering incoming calls.

Responsibilities:

• Check patients in and update all patient demographics.
• Process inbound and outbound referrals and testing orders.
• Schedule, reschedule and confirm patient appointments.
• Scan documents in to EHR, as needed.
• Collect and post copayments and payments for non-covered services.
• Verify referrals are in place for patients
• Chart reports for outbound referrals and testing orders.
• Process VA Authorizations and FMLA/Disability Paperwork.
• Coordinate IMEs for STRS.
• Coordinate patient care between offices and testing facilities.

Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs)

• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

• Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred

Work hours: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime will be required. 

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
