Scheduling & Referral CenterFT/ DAYS/ 80 hours per pay Summary of Position The Scheduling and Referral Management Associate (SRA) is responsible for facilitating, scheduling and communicating details of patient appointments, appointment instructions, insurance pre-authorizations, and reporting according to health care providers’ orders and under the supervision of the Referral Management Center supervisor, reporting to the Premier Health Connect Manager. Nature and Scope The position of SRA will review health care provider referral orders and coordinate with patients and other health provider offices to schedule referred appointments, determining whether insurance pre-authorization is necessary and carrying out the pre-authorization process. The SRA will follow up referred appointments to ensure patients receive timely care. The SRA position includes, but is not limited to scheduling, phone calls, clerical, organizational, reporting tasks, and related duties. Responsibilities (will include some or all the following): > 1. Review and process incoming provider referral orders accurately and timely. > > 2. Maintain a functional understanding of medical terminology and medical professional specialties. > > 3. Provide chart documentation and apply appropriate medical terminology to all patient interactions. > > 4. Complete required insurance pre-authorizations in a timely manner. > > 5. Provide patients with appropriate information regarding preparation for referred appointments and instructions, including maps and/or directions, to the facility or office. > > 6. Participate in a team environment scheduling patient appointments for PPN practices. > > 7. Learn templates, “guardrail” rules and telephone system to be able to work independently within one or two specialties. > > 8. Handle telephone inquiries per Premier Health patient experience and behavioral standards. > > 9. Review Epic charts for completion of notes and communication entries. > > 10. Complete referral and scheduling functions within prescribed department goals and expectations. > > 11. Assist supervisor in referral data collection and reporting as requested. > > 12. Provide patient and office feedback to supervisor. > > 13. Follow information security and patient privacy laws and guidelines. > > 14. Participate in quality initiatives and implement as required. > > 15. Responsible for other duties as assigned.Qualifications > 1. Minimum High School diploma or equivalent certificate required. > > 2. Proficient in basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Epic scheduling is preferred. > > 3. Sound knowledge of medical terminology. > > 4. Minimum six (6) months’ experience in an ambulatory care environment. > > 5. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment. > > 6. Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and patient experience standards. > > > 7. Scheduling flexibility to accommodate the needs of the department.
