Patient Scheduler - Heart Center

This position is responsible for scheduling inpatient and outpatient procedures in the Heart Center Diagnostic Service areas, specifically for the Cath lab, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Electrophysiology lab, ECHO lab, Vascular and ECG lab.  The procedures are ordered from physicians and their offices.   This position also schedules patient appointments for the Cardiology Outreach sites, including cardiologist's consultation appointments and procedures that are performed at the outside clinic locations.  This position is accountable for accurate patient information.  

• Coursework/Training: Completion of a medical terminology course
• 2 years of general and specialized office duties
• Prior hospital or clinic experience
• 1 year of Cardiac and/or Vascular scheduling experience

• Community college/vocational education, specializing in either medical assistant and/or office and secretarial subjects such as English, typing, word processing, computer skills, office machines.
• 1 year of Diagnostic Imaging scheduling experience
• 1 year of experience with EPIC- Hospital Computer Information System
