Robert Half is supporting a growing healthcare organization looking to bring in a contract to hire Medical Office Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, diagnostic testing scheduling, physician check-out processes, answering phones, pre-certifications and completing various forms and other necessary paperwork.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments efficiently, ensuring optimal utilization of physician's time and patient satisfaction.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing appointments, liaising with both patients and external diagnostic facilities to ensure timely scheduling and accurate documentation.
- Facilitate smooth check-out processes with physicians, ensuring patients receive necessary instructions, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments.
- Manage incoming calls, triaging inquiries appropriately and providing excellent customer service to patients and other stakeholders.
- Conduct pre-certification processes for medicines, and other diagnostic procedures, adhering to insurance requirements and ensuring timely approvals.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with medical staff, administrative personnel, and external parties to ensure seamless operations within the office.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and medical software for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and documentation.
- Knowledge of insurance pre-certification processes and requirements is a plus.
