Patient Service Representative / Surgical Scheduler - Ophthalmology

We are seeking to hire an experienced Patient Service Representative/ Surgical Scheduler to work with our Ophthalmologist at our Towson location!  The PSR / Surgical Scheduler is the first point of contact and provides a professional, supportive, and nurturing experience for patients, visitors and colleagues via telephone and/or in person.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am -4:30 pm 

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

• Identifying and quickly assessing the  nature of calls and acting appropriately to provide prompt patient service.
• Scheduling office appointments. 
• Scheduling surgical procedures related to Ophthalmology.
• Obtaining prior authorization / insurance verification for all services.
• Completing front desk registration and check in.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required)
• Medical Office experience in Ophthalmology and Surgical Posting  preferred.
• Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide efficient and accurate service within a fast paced environment.
• Ability to learn the EMR (Nextgen) system and Phreesia platform.
