Position Type: Full-time 40 hours per week
Pay Information: $15.50 - $19.50 per hour
SUMMARY:
The Patient Services Representative greets and identifies patients and visitors coming into the office in reference to daily schedules. Verifies pre-visit documentation is current and complete. Also provides patient with post-appointment summary and schedules next appointment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check patients in by collecting needed information required for visit
Assist patients with self check-in kiosk if needed
Verify demographics and insurance information
Schedule patient for next office appointment and give summary when leaving office
Collect copay and balance due by patient
Complete daily scan of incoming mail and records
Complete daily cash out and deposit
Handles cash bag per policy
Work within designated tank to call patients
Maintain office cleanliness set by OSHA standards
Maintain strict HIPAA standards related to patient information
Participate and communicate in team meetings to identify and problem solve processes
May assist in other departments as needed
Any additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
At least six months of experience in a customer service role required
Experience in a medical office role preferred
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates Degree in related field preferred
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Medent experience preferred
Excellent customer service skills required
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor office environment, free from excessive noise and dust.
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
Frequent standing and walking to assist patients and perform administrative tasks
Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files, small packages)
Manual dexterity for operating standard office equipment (keyboard, phone, scanner, copier, kiosk)
Visual and auditory acuity to interact with patients, verify documentation, and process information accurately
Occasional bending, reaching, or stooping to retrieve supplies or files
Ability to speak clearly and listen actively to communicate with patients, visitors, and team members
