Job Description - Patient Support Associate Outpatient Mental Health Department

Description

We are a leading provider of outpatient mental health services in the Scranton, PA area, delivering excellence since 1997. As a cornerstone of the community, we're committed to providing top-notch care and support.
 

This role is designed to provide vital administrative and clinical support to our therapists, clinical supervisors, and the patients and families we serve. This position interacts and supports patients, their families, and therapists and requires significant tact, empathy, and energy.  


Position: Full-time Patient Support Associate – Outpatient Mental Health Department

Location: Scranton, PA

Pay: $17.50 per hour 

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Rehabilitation, or Activity Therapies 
  • Experience in mental health settings (inpatient or outpatient) and/or regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Commitment to maintaining quality care standards and completing daily documentation

 Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support therapists, clinical supervisors, and patients with daily operational needs
  • Handle documentation requests and obtain necessary patient signatures
  • Assist with coordination of care, including outreach calls and scheduling support
  • File documents into patient charts and prepare materials for therapist use
  • Review patient records for compliance with internal, state, and insurance documentation standards
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, addressing patient needs or relaying messages to appropriate staff
  • Offer additional support to the clinical supervisor as needed

  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Adherence to ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Computer skills for electronic scheduling, billing, and future software use.
