As a Patient Support Specialist for our online diagnostic platform, you'll deliver exceptional customer service in a collaborative office environment. Your ability to anticipate patient needs and implement our communication strategy will be crucial in exceeding service objectives while upholding our company's mission and values. This role focuses on providing direct support and assistance to our patients.
Our ideal candidate has strong customer service experience, ideally in healthcare or a contact center. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
This is a hybrid position, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, reporting to the Senior Manager of Patient Services.
Pay Range: Starting at $18 per hour, dependent upon related experience
Duties/Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls, chats, and emails to assist patients with inquiries.
Schedule patient appointments for medical treatment, mental wellness coaching, and teletherapy treatment programs.
Provide information about services to potential patients.
Facilitate patient requests for assessment addendums and second opinions from Psychologists.
Submit requests for patient accommodation letters/forms to Psychologists.
Process payments, including refunds, chargeback requests, and creation of itemized statements.
Use critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient needs and concerns.
Process release of medical records requests.
Multitask and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Collaborate with other departments.
Maintain full compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience, patient services, or contact/call center experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in working with multiple software systems.
Strong ability to use de-escalation techniques for dissatisfied patients.
Adaptable to change.
Attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Bonus Qualifications:
Medical billing and coding experience.
Experience with EHR/EMR systems.
Experience in mental or behavioral health or telehealth.
Bi-lingual in Spanish.
