Patient Transport Driver (Centrum Health)

JOB SUMMARY 

The driver is responsible in providing transportation for our patients as scheduled by the transportation coordinator to attend medical appointments. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Driver job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items. 

• Operate a vehicle to transport patients between destinations in a safe manner consistent with policy and regulations.


• Comply with all traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.


• Report any van malfunctions or needed repairs to the transportation coordinator.


• Always maintain vehicle cleanliness.


• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the proper facility and dispatcher.


• Pick up and drop off passengers at scheduled locations, following time schedules.


• Provide directions and information about van schedules, facilities and operations to the passengers as needed.


• Regulate ventilation systems for passenger comfort.


• Establish a good rapport with passengers.


• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

• High school degree or equivalent.


• Good customer service skills.


• 1 year experience transporting passengers or patients. 


• A valid Florida driver’s license with no violations or accidents in the last 36 months. 

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. 


• Be familiar with local roadways.
