Patient Transportation Driver - Lead

Position Summary:

Basecamp Recovery Center is seeking a reliable, organized, and motivated Patient Transportation Driver - Lead to oversee the daily operations of our transportation team. This role ensures the safe, timely, and compassionate transportation of our clients, while supporting drivers through training, coaching, and coordination. The Driver Lead serves as the main point of contact for the transport team and helps uphold our commitment to quality and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Support

• Lead and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring alignment with company policies and safety protocols


• Monitor performance, provide regular feedback, and assist with 1:1 support


• Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment


• Address and resolve driver-related concerns professionally

Scheduling & Coordination

• Manage daily transport schedules, routes, pickups, and drop-offs


• Ensure timely arrivals for appointments


• Collaborate with staff to meet patient transport needs efficiently

Training & Development

• Train new drivers on safety, service standards, and patient care protocols


• Support ongoing development and upskilling of team members


• Help implement safety initiatives and best practices

Compliance & Safety

• Oversee vehicle safety checks and maintenance scheduling


• Ensure adherence to all transportation regulations and internal policies


• Promote and enforce patient safety protocols during transport

Patient-Focused Service

• Act as a liaison for patients requesting or scheduling transportation


• Ensure each ride reflects compassion, professionalism, and respect

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• 1+ year of professional driving experience


• 2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred


• Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment


• Experience using GPS/navigation tools; familiarity with transportation management software is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• CDCA certification
