The Paving Foreman must have experience completing large DOT HHWY and local roadway paving projects, understand local and state specifications, and understand project plans and OSHA Specs. The foreman manages a 2—to 4-employee crew(s)  while maintaining daily safety and production goals. Hours and shifts may vary based on project specifications.

General Job Duties:

• Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 – 4-person crew(s) 


• Utilizes heavy equipment to prepare the roadway for paving and/or resurfacing ( IE Rollers, Asphalt Distributors, Asphalt Service Trucks)


• Work closely with Contractors and Sub-Contractors


• Continually inspects the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.


• Responsible for crew safety. Establishes and maintains a safe work environment that complies with the company safety program


• Reviews and approves employee time reporting, tracks equipment and production 


• Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely


• Material delivery coordination and recording


• Other Duties as Assigned

Work Experience, Attributes and/or Education Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years Paving Foreman Experience  Required


• Highschool Diploma or GED 


• Active Drivers License


• CDL with Tanker Endorsements


• Preferred Certificates: Asphalt Roadway, Lane CLosure, MOT, OSHA 10


• Read & interpret technical drawings, blueprints


• Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of the same -preferred


• Flexibility when needed for extended day shift and or night shift hours needed for paving timeframe


• Ability to adapt and work effectively with a diverse workforce

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards


• Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.


• Tolerance to high vibration of construction paving equipment and tolerance to fumes, and chemicals that are relevant to the paving environment


• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards


• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
