Job Description

The Payment Process Specialist executes the daily operational tasks and projects/new initiatives specific to the Payouts function within Payment Operations. Execution of other operational tasks related to the wider Payment Operations team are also part of this role. 


The Payment Process Specialist is expected to build strong relationships with Booking.com’s business partners in an effort to ensure they are paid to the terms of Booking.com BV’s hotel contract. Due to the rapid and continuous growth of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.


We are currently hiring 3 specialists. 1 on a permanent seat and 2 on a temporary contract of 1 year


B. Responsible:



  • Execute operational tasks in relation to payout processes

  • Processing, monitoring and reconciliation of payments

  • Bank statement processing, performing reconciliation when needed, and looking for opportunities for further automation

  • Support the Accounting team with month-end closing queries

  • Support the team in performing non-SOx and SOx controls

  • Resolve payment queries from customers/partners via Zendesk and different channels

  • Execute operational tasks from Payment Operations team

  • Complete daily operational tasks in a timely manner to help maintain integrity and reliability of the product/s and/or process/es

  • Communicate proactively and clearly with the team on issues to indicate progress and to resolve potential problems

  • Suggest process improvement based on on-the-job experience

  • Cross functional Communication and collaboration

  • Prepare reports, dashboards and analysis

  • Communicate with Booking’s partners on payments processes, as needed.

  • Ad-hoc projects as requested


B. Skilled



  • 1-3 years of experience in finance, economics or a related field.

  • SAP and Excel knowledge is a must.

  • Experience in online payments companies/roles is a plus.

  • SQL knowledge is a plus.

  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.

  • Accurate with good attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills. 

  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Self-starter, self-directed and resourceful.

  • Deals well with ambiguity.

  • Customer driven and service oriented.

  • Solution oriented and result driven.

  • Strong teamwork skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Internationally focused and an awareness of different cultures.
