Payments Manager – Healthcare Revenue Cycle

The Payments Manager oversees payment posting, cash application, and credit balance resolution across multiple home care locations. This role leads a blended onshore/offshore team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payer and patient payments, contract and paper-based workflows, credit balances, and unapplied cash.

The Payments Manager partners closely with Billing and Accounts Receivable leadership to resolve payment variances, improve processes, maintain compliance, and meet operational service-level and quality standards. The role also develops payment policies and procedures and reports key performance metrics to senior Revenue Cycle leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily payment posting and cash application across sites and payors.
• Manage credit balances, refunds, and unapplied cash to ensure timely resolution.
• Lead contract and paper-based payment processing.
• Manage and develop offshore payment support teams while maintaining SLA and quality standards.
• Monitor aging and performance reports and drive timely issue resolution.
• Establish and improve payment posting policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Partner with Billing and AR leadership on payment variance research and reconciliation.
• Track and report KPIs, including posting turnaround time, credit balance aging, and error/rework rates.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of healthcare or home care revenue cycle experience, particularly in payment posting and cash management.
• Experience managing offshore or outsourced teams strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with EHR/billing platforms such as WellSky, HHAExchange, or similar systems.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a strong process-improvement mindset.
