Job Description - PAYROLL

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Type: (Remote)

Position Overview:

As a Payroll Specialist at Jonesbororealtycompany, you will be responsible for processing and managing our company's payroll. You will work closely with the HR department and other team members to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees and contractors. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of payroll processes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process payroll for all employees and contractors, including calculating hours worked, overtime, commissions, and bonuses

- Review and verify timesheets and other payroll-related documents for accuracy

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and payroll data

- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner

- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit payments

- Process new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status

- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate and timely benefits deductions and contributions

- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and make necessary updates to company policies and procedures

- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and 1099 forms

- Generate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and management

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Excel

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
