What We're Looking For:


The Lou Fusz Automotive Network is looking for a full-time payroll administrator. This position is responsible for confidentially processing weekly and semi-monthly payrolls as well as maintaining employee records (previous and current employees), while ensuring that all payroll processes are done correctly, accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.


The position requires the employee to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task. To work in the Payroll Department, an employee must have the ability to handle work that is confidential in nature. Professionals in this role are expected to have the ability to pay attention to detail and enter a high volume of data. They are generally in daily communication with employees and managers, as well as their team members in the Payroll Department.

Responsibilities:



  • Maintenance of employee records (pay rate changes, position/dept changes, employee transfers, employee personal information changes, direct deposit changes, setting up deductions, tax filing status changes, etc.)

  • Ensuring the accuracy of time sheets weekly

  • Entering the data required to complete weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including union and non-union, accurately and on time

  • Ensuring that involuntary deductions, such as child support or garnishments, are calculated correctly and deducted from the employee's paychecks, and remitted in a timely fashion

  • Maintain attendance calendars and time off accruals

  • Confirming that new employees are enrolled in benefits and retirement plans as they become eligible and termination of employees in the system when they leave our employment.

  • Filing / scanning employee paperwork


Qualifications:



  • Payroll experience is preferred, but is not necessary for the right candidate

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Prior accounting experience is a plus

  • Good listening skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Organizational and time management skills are necessary
