The Payroll Administrator will oversee all aspects of payroll processing for our organization and assist with Accounts Payable duties. This position reports to the Financial Controller. The ideal candidate is the point person for the company’s payroll and timekeeping system (ADP) and will ensure accurate and timely payroll administration, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provide exceptional support to Teammates regarding payroll matters for a fast-growing sports wagering startup.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Manage and process bi-weekly payroll.
- Verify timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation.
- Verify new hires, terminations and other payroll-related changes
- Ensure accurate employee contributions for benefits and 401k.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure alignment of employee data and compensation.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and filings as required.
- Respond to Teammate inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and earnings.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and support audits as necessary.
- Generate payroll reports for Management.
- Monitor hours, flag overtime or missed punches to Management.
- Troubleshoot and assist Managers with questions on the ADP scheduling tool.
- Troubleshoot and assist Teammates with questions on the ADP mobile app.
Accounts Payable Duties:
Manage vendor invoices from receipt to payment, verify invoice accuracy, process and schedule payments, reconcile financial records, maintain vendor files and relationships, resolve discrepancies, and generate financial reports to ensure accurate and timely payment of company obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of recent payroll processing experience required.
- High school diploma, or equivalent required.
- ADP knowledge and experience necessary.
- Work experience in accounts payable is helpful.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Able to work independently, is deadline oriented with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in gaming/hospitality industry is preferred.
- Discreet and ethical approach.
