Payroll & AP Specialist AR/CT

Summary:

The Payroll & AP Specialist is responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing and, between payrolls, processing of Accounts Payables invoices. Clear written communication to coordinate with our partners in Human Resources, Supply Chain, and third parties (Paylocity & vendors) is key to the success of this individual in the role.

Essential functions: 

• Ensure accurate processing of payroll on a bi-weekly basis (processed every other Mon/Tue for payment on Thur) using Paylocity
• Communicate and coordinate with the Human Resources organization to ensure payroll adjustments are identified and processed accurately as part of each payroll
• Take the lead in payment of employee benefit providers including self-reporting of company enrollments
• Partner with the Controller to ensure 401k loans and employee contributions are properly administered as part of the bi-weekly payroll
• Between payrolls, support our AP team by processing inbound supplier invoices
• With our AP Specialist and per authorized instructions from the Controller, process weekly vendor payments by ACH, Wire, and Check
• Respond to vendor payment inquiries as needed to ensure alignment with vendor records
• Review and authorize employee expense reports which are subsequently paid via our bi-weekly payroll
• Other responsibilities as may be identified by the Controller in the advancement of payroll and accounts payable objectives

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
• Associate’s degree in business management or accounting, preferred

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Past experience with Paylocity payroll and timekeeping software, preferred
• Must be service oriented
• Able to adaptably identify and evaluate potential solutions to vendor inquiries  
• Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing across the organization and with third parties
• Able to sort, analyze, and manipulate data in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to consistently apply and maintain standard business practices
