Mid Valley Disposal is currently seeking applicants for our dynamic Human Resources Team as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist. Your primary focus will be responsible for ensuring compliance, technical accuracy, and efficiency of the Payroll/HRIS system, employee benefit open enrollment, payroll deductions and accruals, and leaves of absence. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WOULD BE EXPECTED TO:

• Must demonstrate a sound knowledge of HR, benefits, and payroll-related policies, procedures, and applications.

• Meticulous attention to detail is mandatory as the as is the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

• Effectively deal with multiple and changing priorities as well as demonstrate initiative; able to undertake prompt, appropriate action to correct any inaccuracies.

• Proficiency with payroll software, tax forms, and deductions is essential, along with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

• Human Resources best practices.

• State, Federal and Local employment and labor laws.

• ADP a must, HRIS and payroll software.

• Certified payroll, prevailing wages

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Must have a high level of computer literacy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and with HRIS systems, preferably with ADP Workforce Now or similar program.

• Proven track-record of credibility, confidentiality, and integrity.

• Self-motivated, proactive, committed to continuous improvement.

• Exceptional verbal, written communication skills that consist of writing highly effective and engaging content.

• Extremely strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Electronic data entry.

• Use of computers and calculators.

• Record-keeping and basic accounting.

• Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast paced, high stress environment.

• Ability to concentrate, retain information and remain focused throughout the workday.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits processing/administration. PREFERRED:

• Human Resources Leaves of Absence Certification

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Communication, Marketing, or related area of study.
