Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Payroll Assistant to join our team. This role will support payroll processing, ensure accurate employee compensation, and assist with maintaining payroll records for our team. The ideal candidate has experience in payroll processing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in processing bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees.
• Ensure accurate recording of hours, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
• Maintain and update payroll records, tax documents, and employee information.
• Assist with payroll compliance related to state and federal labor laws.
• Address payroll-related questions and discrepancies from employees.
• Work closely with HR and accounting to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Support benefits administration, direct deposit setup, and wage garnishments as needed.
• Assist with reporting, audits, and payroll reconciliation.

Skills:

• 2 years of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or HR support (automotive industry experience preferred).
• Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
• Strong understanding of wage laws, overtime policies, and payroll compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft, Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and confidentiality in handling payroll data.

• Degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• 2 years of experience in payroll, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and uphold dealership standards.
• Valid driver's license
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
• Authorized to work in the United States
