Atlas is seeking a

Payroll Director

for our headquarters in Austin, TX. (Bee Cave area). The individual will oversee the Payroll Department and its various functions.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

Oversee payroll operationsInitiate and implement process improvements and efficiencies related to payroll process.Ensures Timely Processing/Delivery of payroll cycles for the Hourly and Salary employees. Oversee and direct the processes of the completed payroll cycle to ensure deadlines are met with completeness and accuracy. Reviews payroll register to ensure all entries have been captured and represented on the payroll accuratelyEnsure Company compliance with Fair Wage and Labor Standards Acts. Responsible for adhering to federal, state, and local laws/guidelines and monitoring any changes; advising management on actions neededLead, manage and develop a team of payroll professionals located throughout the USMonitor KPIs that meet the needs of the businessMaintain leading edge knowledge of the payroll discipline and be an internal expert for compliance issuesEnsure that the calculation of earnings and other payments are timely, accurate and in compliance with Federal and stateEnsure that payroll transactions are properly classified and in compliance with accounting principles and internal/external audit requirementsMaintain financial controls and audit trails for all transactionsManage third party vendor relationshipsInterface with HR and Accounting groups on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and proper accounting of transactionsOversee accounting journal entries and inter-company reimbursements (funding and cash requests, wire requests, bank reconciliations, suspect check reports, and quarterly tax reconciliations)Troubleshoot and work with the IS Department on all system related initiatives and upgrades as well as installationsIdentify and implement opportunities for automationRequirements

Requirements:

Experience in leading and managing a payroll department for a large corporationAdvanced computer literacy (specific proficiency in Word and Excel), desire to support new products and technologies, demonstrated practical and hands-on (can-do)Extensive knowledge in Payroll Accounting procedures and Payroll Tax Laws RegulationsOther considerations a plus:

BA or BS degree in business, finance, accounting or related field preferred but not requiredCertified Payroll Professional designation, system implementation and/or process improvement experience, and M A experienceExperience with ADP VantageExperience in a Union environmentQualities:

Customer-first mindset [internal customers]Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities and achieve results without close supervision is necessarySelf-motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to operate independently and have the strong desire to work as a member of a team.High ethical standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
