Payroll Manager

Description of the role:

Toyota of Santa Barbara is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and new hire onboarding. This position plays a key role in ensuring our employees are supported from their first day through every paycheck, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multi-department operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


• Lead the onboarding process for new employees, including conducting orientations and coordinating training


• Assist with benefits administration, employee inquiries, and payroll-related reporting. 


• Maintain clean and reconciled payroll schedules, including payroll journal entries and benefit invoice reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.


• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits with professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in payroll management and onboarding


• Proficiency with Paylocity or other HRIS/payroll platforms. 


• Payroll experience in the automotive industry a plus


• Strong understanding of CA labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements


• Demonstrate discretion, integrity, and professionalism in managing confidential employee and payroll information


• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills


• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members

- Competitive salary range: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year paid semi-monthly
