The Opportunity
Halo Industries, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You will play a critical role in managing employee compensation and benefits, as well as providing excellent support to our employees regarding payroll inquiries.
Job Description:
Process bi-weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations related to hours worked, overtime, and deductions.
Manage and maintain payroll records and employee data, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Calculate and process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and terminations.
Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, tax filings, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters, including tax withholding, benefits, and deductions.
Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate data regarding new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
Stay up-to-date with payroll law changes and recommend updates to policies and procedures as necessary.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflows and address payroll discrepancies.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing or payroll administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and labor laws.
Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for payroll reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet payroll deadlines.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills to assist employees with payroll inquiries.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
