Job Description - Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced

Payroll Specialist

to join our growing team. Our Payroll Specialist will oversee the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll processes for hourly and salaried team members. Utilizing the HRIS (ADP) system, the Payroll Specialist will ensure compliance across multiple states and with federal wage and hour laws. This person will work with multiple departments to verify hours worked, paid time off, deductions, pay adjustments and is responsible for W2, 1099's, 1095/1094, EEO reporting/filing, and facilitating compliance audits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Process the biweekly payroll for wages, overtime, tax deductions, misc. deductions, benefits, commissions, bonuses, referral bonuses, fringe benefits, reimbursements demand payments, separation payments, etc.Follow and calculate all outside wage garnishments, levies, support orders or judgments when required on an individual's paycheck. Respond as needed to inquiring agencies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes.Audit timecard accuracy to ensure wages and benefits are properly distributed; maintain attendance tracking.Process new hire and employee separation paperworkRun 401k and HSA reports for employee changes, setup deductions, and submit biweekly contribution to sponsor website.Maintain Payroll, Benefits and 401k systems, identifying and resolving any issues related to software or vendor data feeds.Prepare data for employee benefits plans, 401k audit, salary surveys, wage scales, pay grades, and for reports for other departments and internal/external auditors.Completes applications in multiple states to set up state tax IDs, ensures proper set up and accurate state tax and unemployment filings.Responsible for annual reporting including, EEO, PCORI 720 filing, W-2, W2C and amended returns, W3, 1095/1094, 1099's.Ensure the HRIS system is properly configured and updated with the latest employee information. Troubleshoot and resolve any system-related issues promptly.Requirements

2-4 years of payroll processing experience.Prior experience with payroll related requirements and regulations.Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and E-time.Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.Track record of handling confidential employee issues with a warm customer service approach.Ability to communicate sensitive information in a thoughtful manner.High accuracy and attention to detail.Benefits
