Job Description - Payroll/HR Admin

Payroll & HR Administrator

About the Position

We are a growing automotive dealership looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to take great care of our team.

In this role, you will be the go-to person for everything related to payroll, benefits, and everyday HR support. Dealership life moves fast, and our team relies on unique pay structures like commissions and bonuses. Because of that, we are really looking for someone who understands how a dealership operates.

This is a hands-on, deeply trusted position. You will work closely with everyone from our service technicians to our executive management. If you take pride in keeping employee data safe, love keeping things organized, and enjoy helping people navigate their benefits, you will fit right in.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

Human Resources & Employee Support

  • Welcome New Hires: Guide new team members through onboarding and make them feel welcome on day one.

  • Be the Expert: Answer team questions about company policies, vacation days, and leave options (like FMLA).

  • Keep Safe Records: Own the paperwork process, from secure employee files and I-9 compliance to processing offboarding and COBRA notices.

  • Stay Compliant: Keep us aligned with federal and state employment laws so our team and business stay protected.

Payroll Management

  • Own the Payroll Cycle: Gather and verify hours, commission structures, sales bonuses, and deductions to ensure accurate pay.

  • Fix Discrepancies: Review timecards and chat directly with managers or employees to resolve errors before checks go out.

  • Update the System: Keep our payroll software accurate regarding raises, tax changes, transfers, or insurance deductions.

Benefits & Compliance

  • Manage Perks: Process health insurance forms and coordinate payments alongside our Office Manager.

  • Handle Claims: Take care of unemployment claims and supply the necessary documentation when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Dealership Experience: Automotive dealership experience is strongly preferred. Understanding flat-rate pay, commissions, and dealership departments will help you hit the ground running.

  • HR & Payroll Background: You have 2–3 years of HR generalist or heavy administrative experience, plus a solid grasp of payroll processing.

  • A Trusted Professional: You treat confidential personal data with absolute discretion.

  • Great Communicator: You can explain complex tax or insurance rules to employees patiently and clearly.

  • Problem Solver: You notice when a process is broken and love finding a smoother, faster way to fix it.

  • The Basics: You are highly computer literate and hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Our Perks & Benefits

We offer a competitive package to take care of you and your family, subject to standard plan guidelines:

  • Competitive salary

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

  • Exclusive employee discounts and company perks

Equal Opportunity Employer

We love a diverse workforce. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. If you are qualified and ready to help our team grow, we want to hear from you!
