PCB Layout Designer

The PCB Layout Designer, often referred to as a PCB / CAD Designer, will be instrumental in bringing PCB layouts to life. This position focuses on fostering strong partnerships with clients, electrical engineers, and fellow team members at NS to create precise layouts for printed circuit boards, and supporting documentation for production, utilizing CAD software such as Altium, PADS, Xpedition, and more.

Essential Functions

• Manages library components and performs PCB layout, ensuring high quality and accuracy in PCB layout solutions.
• Leads PCB layout reviews and conducts high-speed analysis (e.g., crosstalk analysis and best practice strategies).
• Partners with cross-functional product development teams in supporting product development.
• Maintains PADS libraries.
• Partners to select and qualify electronic components.
• Creates detailed engineering documentation that allows the manufacturing of PCBAs, including schematics, bills of materials and assembly drawings.
• Works within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to support innovative product development.
• Participates in departmental and program meetings.
• Demonstrates the ability to respect and support colleagues at all levels, contributes to positive work environment and mentors junior Associates, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant career experience.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as Altium, PADS, or Xpedition.
• Ability and desire to "flex" between military, medical, consumer, and industrial product types.
• Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Preferred Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant career experience.
• Consulting experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
