Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years.  At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we produce a variety of products--from painted aluminum sheet to blanked aluminum products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware, and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components.  Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods.

The position exists to maintain and develop process control operating systems from a hardware and software perspective.   Process control operating systems control the operation of our production machinery and are integral to the production, quality, and safety or our production systems.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of Process Control Systems Engineer/Software Engineer:



  • Maintain and develop process control operating systems both hardware and software

  • Perform system upgrades

  • Perform patching/security updates as needed and required by Corporate Security

  • Performs application design changes to HMI and SCADA products as needed

  • Solve quality problems associated with process control systems and develop software to diagnose quality problems




Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 1 year full-stack experience or equivalent project work developing using programming languages such as C#, C++, VBA, SQL, or similar
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of programming experience in the following languages (C#, C++, VBA, or SQL)
  • 1 year maintaining a database system using any of the following platforms – MSAccess, SQL Lite, Microsoft SQL Server, or Postgre SQL
  • 1 year experience working knowledge of programming and interface techniques with various manufacturing shop floor control systems (e.g., programmable controllers (PLC’s), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems)
  • A working knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, Windows Operating Systems
  • A practiced knowledge of Project Management skills
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
