RIGHT NOW.\n\n##### \n\nJohn Deere is an equal opportunity employer, including disabled \u0026 veterans. \n\nPrimary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Des Moines \nFunction: Factory Engineering (CA) \nTitle: PDP Weld Manufacturing Engineer - 118885 \nOnsite/Remote:Onsite Position\n\n## Your Responsibilities\n\nAs a PDP Weld Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Des Moines, IA, you will:\n\n * Concept and procure weld tooling, robotic weld systems, specialized racks, and material handling equipment utilizing E-Tools to determine the sequence of events, communicate issues and verify safety and ergonomic methods\n * Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities to resolve manufacturing, safety and ergonomic issues, and quality metrics\n * Participate in quality activities, such as: Function Geometry Reviews (FGRs), Design Process Assembly Reviews (DPARs), and Process Failure Mode \u0026 Effects Analysis (PFMEAs) activities\n * Innovate to implement product performance improvements and cost reductions for welding operations\n * Develop and implement lean cell layouts to improve material flow and material presentation in areas of responsibility\n * Support Appropriation for Expenditure (AFE) labor and capital estimates by developing accurate, timely, labor estimates and part routings in SAP for program management\n * Support the launch of new product lines\n\n\n\nVISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position\n\n## What Skills You Need\n\n * Understanding of weld tooling design, robotic/automation systems development, work center design, line design, and complex welded assemblies\n * Ability to champion and improve overall product flow and line design within the factory, working through and directing projects from start to finish\n * Experience with problem solving and working in a team environment\n * Effective verbal and written communication skills\n * Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, wPlanner/MPP, SAP, and 3D Modeling\n * Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%\n\n\n\n## What Makes You Standout\n\n * Expertise with complex automated manufacturing work cells / robotic programming\n * Experience with Creo \u0026 Auto CAD\n * Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning \u0026 Tolerances (GD\u0026T)\n * Work experience in a union environment\n * Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement\n * High level of knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification\n * Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP)\n\n\n\n## Education\n\nIdeally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Weld, Mechanical Engineering, Technology or related field\n\n\n\nWhat You\u0027ll Get\n\nAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
