Job Description - Pediatric Hospitalist

JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Physician – Pediatric Hospitalist

• Job Type: Locum Tenens

• Location: Ronceverte, WV

• Service Setting: Inpatient – Acute Care Hospital

• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call

• Coverage Period: 08/04/2025 – 13 weeks

• Clinical Shift Schedule: 5 nights/week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour on-call; specific schedule TBD

• Call Type: In House Call

• Additional dates TBD based on 13-week assignment and scheduling

• Patient Demographics: Neonates, Pediatrics

• Patient Volume/Census: TBD

• Admissions: Yes

• Case Mix: Pediatric inpatients, newborns, deliveries

• EMR System: Athena

• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

• Credentialing Timeline: 60 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Rate: TBD

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Newborn care

• Pediatric consultations and rounding

• Circumcisions (potentially; subject to confirmation)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Must hold active WV medical license (no willingness to license)

• Board: Pediatric Board Certification preferred

• DEA

• BLS, ACLS, PALS (Preferred)

• Other Qualifications: Teaching hospital experience preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide 24-hour hospital call coverage for pediatric and newborn patients

• Attend deliveries and manage inpatient pediatric care

• Conduct consultations and daily rounds

• Coordinate with nursing and specialty teams as needed

• Perform circumcisions (if required/credentialed)
