Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· Must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited Nursing program.
· Certified from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Certification Corporation, or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
· Basic Life Support BCLS Certification.
· DEA Drug Enforcement Administration License.
· Fingerprint Clearance Card.
SKILLS
· Diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent children’s diseases and injuries.
· Communicates with patients, their parents, or their caregivers.
· Guides patients and caregivers on illness and injury prevention and promotes lifelong health practices.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Reviews patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, well-child visits, and immunizations status.
· Elicits and records information about patient’s medical, developmental, social, and family history.
· Examines patient to determine general physical condition or presence of disease or injury.
· Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
· Administers or prescribes treatments as needed.
DESCRIPTION
We are interested in hiring a talented healthcare team member, who has experience working with children of all ages, and various medical conditions. Our clinic is expanding, and as such, we need a flexible, knowledgeable, and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who is seasoned in the care and wellbeing of children in our community. The successful candidate will accept patient referrals, provide primary medical care, consult with specialists, and respond to pediatric emergencies. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a warm, caring atmosphere where the health of our children is the top priority. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner would be required to perform certain duties such as: Perform assessments and diagnoses of patients and offer appropriate treatment. Provide care in age-appropriate manner, review and develop patient educational material, supervise medical students assigned to the clinic for the purposes of education, develop and uphold a program for quality assurance within the clinic. Keep scheduled hours for extended clinic availability and maintain schedule flexibility as the clinic expands.

· Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with parent or patient.
· Must be able to embrace differences among people and able to interact with internal staff as well as external contacts in a culturally competent and respectful manner
