Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)- Travel Position  
Location: Knoxville, TN

Shift: 4x10s Days 
Pay: $2961/week  

Job Description:  

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pediatric Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This specialized role involves providing expert nursing care to pediatric patients, from infants to adolescents, undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. The Pediatric OR RN is responsible for preparing the operating room, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, is adept at communicating with children and their families, and remains calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Prepare the operating room for pediatric surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.


• Act as a circulator or scrub nurse during surgeries, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and the team.


• Monitor the patient's condition throughout the procedure, including vital signs and fluid balance.


• Provide pre- and post-operative care, ensuring a smooth transition for the child to the recovery unit.


• Offer comfort and reassurance to pediatric patients and their families, reducing anxiety before surgery.


• Adhere strictly to all surgical protocols, sterility standards, and safety procedures.


• Document all patient care and interventions accurately and thoroughly.

Qualifications:  

• Active RN license in Tennessee.


• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications


• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent pediatric OR or surgical nursing experience.


• COVID vaccine and recent TB test are required.
