QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education - Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy

• Current Texas Physical Therapist License in good standing

DUTIES:

• Perform an comprehensive examination/assessment of the patient 

• Formulate a diagnosis, prognosis and plan

• Provide consultation within their expertise and determine when the patient needs to be referred to another healthcare professional

• Implement a physical therapist intervention/treatment program

• Determine the outcomes of any interventions/treatments

• Make recommendations for self management

• Train caregivers on carryover exercises that can be safely performed by a non-licensed person

• Thoroughly document assessment findings and treatment interventions to support services rendered 

• Supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants with compliance with Board requirements.

• Participate in in-service training offered by the agency or through outside resources.
