Pediatric Physical Therapist

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients’ physical conditions, develop treatment plans, and implement personalized therapy programs
  

• Perform treatments such as gait training, therapeutic exercise, soft tissue mobilization, and modalities (e.g., hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, etc.)
  

• Educate patients and families on proper use of mobility devices and therapeutic activities
  

• Maintain thorough clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries
  

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to adjust treatment plans and ensure continuity of care
  

• Follow safety and infection control policies, including universal precautions
  

• Supervise assigned support staff in the implementation of therapy plans
  

• Participate in departmental meetings, safety programs, and continuing education
  

• Assist in equipment care and patient transport as needed
  

• Provide care across all age ranges, including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State at the time of hire
  

• CPR certification (BLS) required within 90 days of start date
  

• Experience in a hospital or outpatient pediatric setting preferred
  

• Ability to lift 30 lbs independently and assist in lifting 150 lbs with a second person
  

• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for pediatric care
