Pediatric Physical Therapist – Miami, Florida



 


A healthcare organization in Miami, Florida is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist to join its pediatric care team. This full-time position is suited for a clinician who enjoys working with children, collaborating with families, and creating individualized treatment approaches that support mobility, development, and functional independence.


 


The Physical Therapist will work with pediatric patients with a variety of physical and developmental needs while providing high-quality care in a collaborative clinical setting.


 


Position Overview


The Physical Therapist will be responsible for assessing pediatric patients, establishing individualized treatment goals, providing therapeutic interventions, and monitoring progress throughout the course of care.


The ideal candidate is comfortable working with children of different developmental stages and is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-informed therapy.


 


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations and identify functional limitations and areas requiring intervention

  • Consider each patient's developmental level, medical history, diagnosis, functional abilities, and individual goals when planning care

  • Develop individualized treatment plans with realistic and measurable objectives

  • Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, strength, balance, coordination, motor skills, and functional independence

  • Monitor patient progress and make appropriate adjustments to treatment programs

  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, patients, and other healthcare professionals

  • Educate families regarding therapeutic activities, positioning, mobility strategies, and home programs

  • Document evaluations, treatments, progress, recommendations, and other clinical information accurately and promptly

  • Participate in care coordination and interdisciplinary discussions when appropriate

  • Determine when patients have reached their therapeutic goals or maximum benefit and assist with discharge planning

  • Incorporate current evidence and accepted clinical practices into treatment decisions

  • Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and clinical development

  • Follow applicable professional, ethical, safety, and regulatory standards


 


Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

  • Active and unrestricted Florida Physical Therapist license

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification

  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Ability to work effectively with children, parents, caregivers, and members of a healthcare team

  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential patient records


Preferred



  • Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master's degree in Physical Therapy

  • Previous experience providing pediatric physical therapy

  • Pediatric clinical internship or rotation

  • Experience working with infants and young children

  • Experience with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, or other pediatric conditions

  • Familiarity with evidence-based pediatric rehabilitation practices

  • Membership in professional physical therapy organizations

  • Strong interest in continued clinical education and professional growth
