QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education - Minimum of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

• License - Current Texas Physical Therapy Assistant License in good standing

• Experience - Preferred - Minimum of one (1) year’s experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• Perform physical therapy as planned, delegated and supervised by the Licensed Physical Therapist 

• Prepare clinical and progress notes that thoroughly document treatment interventions

• Observe, record and report to the therapist, the patient’s reaction to treatment and changes in the patient’s condition

• Advise, teach and consult with the patient/family as applicable

• Train caregivers on carryover exercises that can be safely performed by a non-licensed person

• Participate in discharge planning in consultation with the licensed therapist
