Pediatric School Nurse

Client Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to support a 5-year-old female student with total care needs throughout the school day and during transport hours. This child is medically complex, incontinent, and requires full assistance with feeding, mobility, hygiene, and medical management.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide total care assistance throughout the school day, including hygiene, incontinence care, and positioning.

• Gastrostomy (G-Tube) care: feeding, flushing, and site monitoring.

• Medication administration in accordance with physician’s orders and school policy.

• Monitor for changes in condition, including signs of aspiration, discomfort, or medical distress.

• Collaborate with school staff, transportation personnel, and family caregivers to ensure coordinated care.

• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, medications given, and any incidents.

• Assist with safe transport to and from school if required (ride-along support during transit may be necessary).

• Support the student’s daily routine and promote a safe, inclusive environment
  
   

• Qualifications:

• Current unencumbered LPN/RN license in the state of Florida
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a supervised setting within the last three (3) year
• Successful completion of the skills assessment specific to the areas of experience including any specialty areas
• In compliance with state and Federal regulations
• CPR
• Valid AHCA/ level two background screening
• TB test showing a negative result
