Please apply as soon as possible. This position will close to applicants at mid-night on March 5, 2026The coordinator leads large-scale and ongoing recruitment, hiring, and onboarding. (Current scale is 25-40 mentors per term, with 10-20 new mentors brought in each term. This varies based on program growth goals and budget constraints). The work includes:
Gathering mentor recommendations from math instructors
Recruiting mentors
Conducting informational interviews
Making hiring and retention recommendations to supervisor
Matching mentors to math courses and instructors (based on availability, course needs, and mentor strengths)
Facilitating initial and ongoing meetings between mentors placed with instructors
Responding to last-minute placement changes
Designing and facilitating mentor orientation, training, and professional development for the group of current mentors
Orienting mentors to PCC employment processes (Workday, I-9s, timesheets)
Scheduling and planning all meetings and training sessions in multiple modalities
Coordination and support includes:
Supporting mentors through regular check-ins and meetings
Collaborating with lead mentors
Providing individualized coaching
Maintaining communication with instructors
Serving as the primary liaison between mentors and administrative systems
Reviewing timesheets and activity reports, ensuring accountability and following up as needed
Troubleshooting payroll and access issues
Documenting program processes
Maintaining spreadsheets and systems for tracking of hiring status, placement, timesheets, and program outcomes
Analyzing program data
Preparing and presenting program reports for Math and PCC leadership
Planning for future terms to build a sustainable, scalable, and resilient mentorship program
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s degree or 90 quarter college credits or 60 semester college credits AND
Two years of experience relevant to the position AND
Experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Demonstrates the ability to coordinate and support peer mentors.
Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across varying roles.
Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population. (Diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, and other identities and backgrounds).
Demonstrates independent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate, develop and manage institutional systems and processes.
Demonstrates the ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data to support and implement ongoing program development.

Salary placement for Classified positions at PCC is based on relevant professional experience, as well as internal equity. This position is Classified Grade 20. Per PCC’s Classified Employee contract, initial placement is typically in the first two steps of the range: $58,180 and $59,923 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.
