Self-Determined Recovery, LLC (SDR) helps save lives by providing community-based, behavioral health services and housing for single individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder.

How you will partner with our Participants. 


Provides non-clinical services to support clients establishing recovery from alcohol and/or drug use. The Peer Recovery Coach works in conjunction with the clinical team to provide peer support and inspiration to encourage clients throughout their recovery journey in a manner that is respectful, therapeutic, and free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation



Key Job Tasks


- Provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients to make positive changes in their lives
- Collaborate with clinical team to provide comprehensive care
- Monitor client progress and adjust supports as necessary
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for managing triggers
- Provide crisis intervention techniques as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress



Qualifications
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred.
- Experience working in the field of behavioral health or addiction counseling
- Knowledge of mental health counseling theories, techniques, and best practices
- Familiarity with community resources and referral processes for additional support services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Experience with crisis management and intervention strategies
