Overview  


HOPE Community Services, Inc. is a leading outpatient treatment provider in south Oklahoma City.  We provide compassionate trauma informed care to individuals whose lives have been impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. We do this by providing compassionate and evidence-based treatment, aimed at improving the quality of life for those we serve.  


We are seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to join our Domestic Violence Program. In this role, you’ll use your lived experience to guide and empower others on their journey toward healing and recovery. Do you have lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery? About the Position 
As a PRSS in the Domestic Violence Program, you will provide peer-based support, advocacy, and mentorship to individuals recovering from the trauma of domestic violence. You will help connect clients with critical resources and empower them to make informed decisions that support their recovery and independence. This role involves both in-office and community-based engagement, and offers opportunities to build strong relationships, foster personal development, and contribute to meaningful change in the lives of others.




About the Program
 


The Domestic Violence Program provides essential support to survivors of domestic abuse, helping them navigate the complex recovery process with dignity and safety. Through individualized support and peer connection, the program creates a welcoming, recovery-focused environment for individuals who have experienced trauma. PRSS team members assist clients in securing services, building life skills, and accessing behavioral health and recovery supports. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing professionally in trauma-informed care and peer leadership.




Requirements  



  • Demonstrated recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder  



  • HS Diploma or GED  



  • Reliable transportation   




Skills  



  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients, employers, and colleagues.  



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.  



  • Empathy and Compassion   



  • Must be efficient in managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
